I keep getting calls about used vehicles that are sold “as-is” and people wonder if we can help them. My experience suggests that the only way to get out of a used vehicle with no warranty is to be able to prove that there was a car defect and the dealer who sold it to you knew about the defect in the automobile and did not disclose it to you. Beware when you purchase used vehicles. If there is not going to be a warranty, then HAVE SOMEONE INSPECT IT BEFORE YOU BUY. That is your only hope in some cases.

As far as warranties go, if you have a choice to purchase a manufacturers extended warranty, then buy it instead of any aftermarket warranties. I see many more problems from people buying aftermarket warranties. If you have a Ford vehicle with a car defect and have an extended Ford warranty, then there seems to be a bit more of an “ownership interest” on behalf of the manufacturer. After all they did build the vehicle, too.
