We get all kinds of automobile lemon law and consumer cases here.
A recent client is complaining that he does not get the gas mileage which is listed for his Chevrolet Aveo. If it was a difference of a couple miles per gallon that would be one thing. But this vehicle is rated at over 35 miles per gallon on the highway and the consumer is only getting about 24-26 miles per gallon.
The dealer and General Motors tells him that there is nothing they can do to make it get better mileage. They tell him to wait until the vehicle gets to 5,000 miles before it gets the optimal miles per gallon.
I have never heard of such a thing. We are going to use the Ohio lemon law to help him get out of this vehicle. You never know until you try. This is not something that our client feels is acceptable and GM is either unwilling or unable to repair the car defect in a reasonable manner.
