Reports are that Chrysler and General Motors will not be able to pay back the government bailout loans that they received prior to filing bankruptcy.

I suppose that is no big surprise to most Americans. There is some good news for consumers of course. The “New”General Motors and Chrysler Group will have to honor lemon law and warranty claims on vehicles manufactured 5 years back from the date of the bankruptcy. In most cases, that means vehicles manufactured after July of 2004. Ohio lemon law victims and Pennsylvania lemon law victims can take comfort if they have an automobile lemon law case on a vehicle that is less than 5 years old.

New car warranties will also be honored back 5 years. This means they are still responsible for car defect repairs and car recalls. View the following link for more information. www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/09/taxpayers-face-heavy-losses-auto-bailout/
